Philadelphia may be nicknamed the City of Brotherly Love, but we think of it more as a city of ending possibilities.  Student trips to Philadelphia can narrow their focus to an historical theme – American Revolution Museum, Constitution Center, Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell etc. or can be much broader to include exploration of varying neighborhoods and museums. The Franklin Institute, Natural History Museum and Philadelphia Museum or Art are all exceptional opportunities for students to explore.  Want something a little edgier? How about the Eastern State Penitentiary?

Music groups can experience the world class Philadelphia Orchestra, or Opera Philadelphia. Both the Walnut Street and Forrest Theaters host national touring companies as well as mount independent productions. With The Curtis Institute and Temple University’s Boyer School of Music right in Philadelphia, we can provide your students with a clinic that will stretch them and inspire them.

Short drives outside of the city can bring you to the Camden Adventure Aquarium in NJ, or Longwood Gardens in Kennet Square – over a 1000 acres of carefully cultivated trees, shrubs and flowers.  Another very popular option is Valley Forge – the site of the winter encampment for the Continental Army in 1777-1778.  Although to get the true feeling of what the soldiers experienced you would visit in the winter, we do find it to be much more pleasant in the warmer months where you can take advantage of the walking paths.

And not to be overlooked, of course, there are the sports teams! Phillies, 76ers and the Flyers keep the action going year round in Philadelphia.  Let your group unwind and cheer for the hometown favorites – everyone can be a fan of Philadelphia – if they embrace the nickname for the duration of their trip.
